BYD’s Super e-Platform delivers 400 km range in 5 minutes with 1MW charging—redefining EV speed and performance.
On March 17, 2025, Chinese EV powerhouse BYD unveiled its most transformative innovation to date—the Super e-Platform. Designed to erase the final psychological barrier to electric vehicle (EV) adoption—charging anxiety—the new platform introduces megawatt flash charging, a 30,000 RPM motor, and silicon carbide (SiC) power chips that push EV performance beyond anything previously seen in the mass market.
The EV sector has made remarkable strides in range, affordability, and design—but slow charging speeds remained a persistent hurdle. With its Super e-Platform, BYD has officially closed the gap between EV charging and gasoline refueling. For many consumers, this could represent the tipping point in choosing an EV.
As Wang Chuanfu, Chairman and President of BYD, stated:
“The ultimate solution is to make charging as quick as refueling a gasoline car.”

Unlike partial implementations of high-voltage systems, BYD’s 1000V architecture encompasses the entire vehicle—battery, motor, HVAC, and more—ensuring consistent ultra-fast energy flow.
The new battery design features:
These specifications enable 1 megawatt of power, the highest for mass-produced EVs.
With these advancements:
Unveiled as the world’s first mass-produced 30,000 RPM EV motor, this innovation significantly boosts acceleration while reducing weight and improving power density.

BYD has developed a fully liquid-cooled charging terminal with a 1360kW capacity, capable of supporting the Super e-Platform’s peak demands. Plans are underway to build 4,000 megawatt flash charging stations across China.
Additional technologies include:
These moves ensure widespread adoption without costly overhauls of public charging infrastructure.

These flagship vehicles will be the first to feature the Super e-Platform and are already available for pre-order in China. The official launch is set for April 2025.
“The Super e-Platform is the world’s most powerful professional pure electric platform. It will redefine electric mobility and lead the development trend of pure electric technology worldwide.” BYD
As BYD continues to scale globally, this technology could:
